The concept of this display house is “ONKO-CHISHIN”(japanese proverb meaning: study the past to develop new idea.
So we laid out this garden in accordance with it. I think many Japanese cityscapes lack healthy overall-balances. Those that cannot act in unison disappear over time. Then in landscaping this garden, we paid heed to the overall balance including the surrounding city and region. The grove is the core of this garden but we purposely located it not in the center but in the side. We chose tender and expansive plants and designed the garden path as the integral part of the garden rather than as a mere function of it.
