Niwa of Senri

When you go out of the station and walk up the gentle slope along a roadside greenbelt, the large arched wall come into view overhead. Though it was a luxurious environment that residents get a view of the nearby greenery from the window, we hoped the sight would contribute not only to the residents but also to the town. Then we planted trees as if to do Ikebana with the large arched canvas in the background. The inner garden adjacent to the Japanese style room is a moss garden with stone plates laid on end so that it goes well with structural slits and the louvre window. On the outer staircase we planted trees as the north garden. At the main garden we set the big raised-bed and arranged edible trees, herbs, and flowers on it. We offered numerous occasions that the residents enjoy it with all five senses.
