Straw craft: Crane (small)

These shimenawa are made by Kamiko Sei in Seiyo City, a rice-growing area of ​​Ehime Prefecture, from pesticide-free rice.
All processes, from planting to harvesting, drying and twisting, are done by hand.
The crane's feathers are carefully made by threading each strand of wire through the straw and aligning the nodes.
Kamiko, who is grateful every day for his efforts to preserve these wonderful traditional techniques, creates straw crafts that are strong and warm.
