Niwa of Isshiki

This mansion, located at the end of a narrow alley heading from the coast towards the mountains, is in an attractive location with the mountains behind it.
In the front garden, which has a 3m difference in elevation from the entrance to the house, you will be greeted by salt-resistant trees that bloom with flowers throughout the seasons. At the base of the garden, we planted Japanese orchids that spread out like an ocean on the mountain behind the house, carefully connecting the scenery to the ocean of Japanese orchids on the mountain behind the house.
The difference in elevation was eliminated by a large staircase made of old iron flat stones, and a glass roof was placed over the porch in front of the entrance, making it a place where visitors can gather with their shoes on.
When you go through the dining room from the room, you will see the backyard. A rare flat surface on the hillside was created and made into a space for the residents to enjoy. Fruit-bearing plants were planted on the slope, and a field space and compost were set up at the furthest point from the building.
Living things depend on elements such as sunlight, air, water, and soil, and these elements influence each other and exist in balance. People also live within this great connection between nature and living things. We hope that people do not have a negative impact on the surrounding environment by living there, but that they understand that they are part of the ecosystem and that they are alive in nature, and that one day the front garden we created will become a place where a wide variety of living things can live, just like the mountain behind our house.
