The garden and Niwa of Nagakura

Initially, the client sought a landscape reminiscent of their life in the UK. As we held many meetings and gained a better understanding of the climate and surroundings, we finally reached the concept: “The garden where the client blow bubbles with grandchildren in the future.”

The client, who had never had a garden before, worried that they couldn’t manage the large plot. To alleviate it, we separated a garden plot enclosed by a deck from other Niwa (untouched natural scenery)-area. As the garden was made into a terrace paved with Teppei-stone, daily maintenance wouldn’t be a burden for the client.
